Beach Eats: New Menu at Sneak Joint

Let me first admit that I jump at any chance to get dressed up, and I feel perfectly at home at the city’s top fine dining establishments; but when summer arrives, I grab flip flops over stiletto heels, and gravitate toward mellow beach restaurants that match my laidback mood. From chill champagne brunch before hitting the sand, to a boardwalk break during lunch, and extended happy hour while still clad in bikinis and covered in sand from head to toe, just-off-the-beach restaurants are my home away from home during summer in San Diego.
Sneak Joint is the ultimate lifestyle venue, located just steps from the boardwalk in Mission Beach, known for upgraded bar grub, cheap drinks, no dress code, and signature hot waitresses rocking little more than vibrant blue bikinis. New Summer Flavor: The cooks in the kitchen are mixing things up this summer, launching a new menu of specialty items available during the month of June. New summer menu items range from hangover-curing fried favorites to ultra healthy veggie dishes and a muy spicy take on pizza. If you are still recovering from a big night, you’re sure to take comfort in Sneak’s new appetizers, such as the Eggs Benedict Crostini – two crisp crostinis layered with ham, grilled egg whites, and fried egg yolk, smothered in hollandaise sauce; and the Fried Mac N Cheese, made with four types of cheese, panko crusted, fried to perfection, and served with ranch dressing.
Sneak also debuts diverse summer entrees, catering to fresh fish lovers, vegetarians, and bold foodies alike. Dig into the Lemon Drill Mai Mahi served with white rice and sautéed veggies; Seared Strip Steak served with asparagus risotto and grilled broccolini; Grilled Veggie Wrap – grilled spinach, bell pepper, onion, mushroom, and garlic, wrapped in a flour tortilla, layered with avocado, pesto sauce, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese; and the Taco Pizza – salsa, steak, bell pepper, and pico, topped with cheddar cheese, cilantro cream, and mixed greens.
